a brand new solution for the NHS
Background
HIC was created with a simple vision in mind, to invent a solution
that can be used by Information Departments in the NHS, simply and
effectively.
The NHS is currently going through massive changes, with the
implementation of a single IT solution across regional areas in
iDS
identified a clear gap in reporting restrictions that went with some
of the Local Service Provider solutions, and therefore built a
product that was fit-for-purpose. The success of HIC has can be
largely put down to the fact that it was designed and built with an
NHS understanding, and customised to make a bespoke solution for
Trusts.
The Product
Health Information Centre is a full data management tool that
handles generic extracts produced by the reference solution. It uses
commonly available software and requires very little technical
expertise. The design is so that the terminology in the application
is common across the NHS and national data standards.
In brief, HIC takes the extracts that are received and transforms
them into user friendly datasets. The front end application
incorporates easy use reporting, based on the criteria and fields
that you require to produce aggregated reports and graphs, with the
patient level data always being available.
